Encyclopedia of Linguistics

Letter from the Publisher

Dear Contributor,

Over the past few months, you may have experienced some frustrating delays or wondered about your contribution to the Encyclopedia of Linguistics. I would like to explain the situation and share some good news with you.

Last September, Routledge acquired the intellectual property of Fitzroy Dearborn Publishers LLC. Routledge, an imprint of Taylor & Francis, is a long-standing publisher of academic reference works renowned for their high quality and scholarship. (For more information about Routledge, please visit our website at reference.routledge-ny.com) As you can imagine, the due diligence process, followed by the transfer of all materials, took care and time.

It is my great pleasure to announce that Routledge will publish the Encyclopedia of Linguistics, edited by Philipp Strazny, in August 2004.

Fitzroy Dearborn deservedly has an excellent reputation in the library market and the academic world. We wish to thank all the Fitzroy Dearborn editors who worked on the Encyclopedia of Linguistics for their excellence and dedication.

If you have any question or would like more information about the project or your contribution, please contact Sue Gamer, the development editor, at linguistics@taylorandfrancis.com. We look forward to working with you on your contribution to this important work.
